Question: Would a certain amount of alcohol abuse (known to my own doctor) be seen as a reason for an NHS prescription?
Answer: Unfortunately, the NHS deems ED treatments as a lifestyle drug. For this reason it is only available to men who’s ED is associated with very limited list of medical conditions and is also limited in quantity to four tablets a month. Conditions that qualify: diabetes, kidney failure/transplant, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, polio, prostate cancer, removal of the prostate gland (prostatectomy, radical pelvic surgery, severe pelvic injury, single-gene neurological conditions, spinal cord injury, spina bifida.If ED is judged to cause you severe distress, you can also receive treatment on the NHS - although this will need to be assessed by a specialist.
